Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

Queen Helene Mint Julep MasqueOver the years I’ve been able to keep my acne at bay with the help of a great dermatologist and the magical ingredient Benzoyl Peroxide. I’m very meticulous about my beauty regimen and have stuck to the same products for the most part, with the occasional addition of new favorites.

Lately my biggest issue has been with blackheads, and not just on my nose but on my entire t-zone, leading to more breakouts as well. I bought the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque to help with my KP and decided to try it for my face. It cleared up 90% of my blackheads and gave me a smooth finish with a soft glow. I don’t recommend it on inflamed breakouts because the mint is strong and could irritate the acne. For under $10, this gem is a must in your beauty cabinet. if you do try it, let me know what you think! Xo

Snaps from Chicago

Navy PierI haven’t visited the windy city in years, so during my recent trip to Michigan I decided to go with my family and explore Chicago like genuine tourists. The architecture in this city is magnificent (see what I did there?) and the Navy Pier was truly dreamy. It was an amazing couple of days I got to enjoy with my parents and brother, and I really tried to stay in the moment rather than take thousands of pictures the whole time. I hope you like seeing the city through my eyes and feel inspired to visit it one day. P.S. any other Divergent fans recognize the ferris wheel? Just me? Xo

Layered Top

Orange Layered Top and JeansI’ve called many places home throughout my life. I was born in Lebanon and raised in Abu Dhabi, then went on to live in Michigan and finally settled in Dubai after I got married. Yes I know, that’s a lot of moving but I wouldn’t really change any of it because each place has enriched my life and shaped me into the person that I am now. The truth is, it’s the people you love that make a place home and that’s why a big chunk of my heart will forever belong to Michigan where the majority of my family are living. My little brother (who’s not so little at 6’1) has been doing my photoshoots with me the past few weeks, and this was our last outfit shoot together.

This top from Stitch & Needle is made of the smoothest cupro fabric and makes a great summer staple. If you’re looking for high quality, minimalistic essentials then I highly recommend you check them out!

I love trying on new polishes, especially creamy pastel shades. During the summertime I feel adventurous and I’m willing to try bright neons and funky nail art. At the moment I am obsessed with Essie’s Go Ginza.

I got to enjoy a lovely high tea date with a friend at Fortnum & Mason which included some fun girl talk and an inspiring exchange of ideas. Ladies, high tea is the new brunch and you really need to try it out.

I’ve been coveting a retro swimsuit for over a year now, and I finally found this one at Topshop that won me over immediately.

Ruffled Top

Some colors take me by surprise and change my whole vision of ‘summer vibes’. This particular mustard/mango shade has always reminded me of fall, but when I found this ruffled top I was so in love with the fabric and the brightness. This top is so chic and flirty, and can be styled with a skirt or pants depending on where you’re wearing it or the overall look you’re going for. I would normally prefer a little tan when wearing bright tops because I find that a bronzed glow makes the color pop better.

I’m a firm believer that no color is limited to a season, and we continue to see that proven more and more each year. It’s important to go out of your comfort zone every once in a while and try something new. Some of the best pieces that I’ve held onto for years are chosen on a whim and aren’t the usual cookie cutter styles. I generally prefer gold over silver jewelry, and the gold accents worked perfectly with this particular shade of mustard. On another note: white distressed denim and cute wedges are officially my new summer uniform.
