Kindness

Beach, Sunset, Rose Gold

There’s something that’s been gnawing at me lately and I felt the need to get it out and share it with you all. I hope this doesn’t sound presumptuous, but I think we’ve all faced some kind of bullying or negative treatment whether in childhood, at work or even from our own friends. I’ve personally experienced it throughout my life.

What recently sent me over the edge is seeing women shaming each other for their bodies, their mothering techniques and just general life choices. This actually hurts me to my core and stands against everything I believe in and against the message behind The Blush Diaries. I created this space to be a positive influence on others and share inspiring and beautiful things. Part of doing that is talking about the most important element we should all hold dear: Kindness.

I’m no angel and I might do the ocassional gossiping with my best friend or snap at someone when I’m having a bad day, but I would never intentionally hurt someone’s feelings or wish harm or failure upon them. A single word or smile from the heart can make or break another person’s day, so I encourage you to make a daily effort to show kindness to others even when you’re not feeling great yourself. It will make you feel better and help you live a more positive life.

The negative feelings you have towards others only fill your heart with more anger and will eventually take away little pieces of you. I’ve spent most of my 20s struggling between being the kind-natured person my parents raised me to be and the tough women who wants to stand up for herself. I’ve finally found a balance, where I choose to live with an open heart and keep those who have hurt me at a far distance. There are cruel people out there but I want to be good in spite of them.

Women have been treated unfairly throughout history, and our ancestors fought for our rights to freedom and equality so we can hold our choices in our own hands. We are all doing the best we can, so let’s love and encourage each other barring any judgements.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, without you I would not be able to do what I do.

x Rania

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway. If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway. What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway. Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway. In the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

  1. Such a beautiful message. I completely agree with you, I feel shaming each other has gone too far, us women need to stick together instead of bullying each other. Over time, I’ve employed the same tactic as you – I’m kind and have kept those who impact me negatively at a distance.

  2. I totally agree with you.

It’s hard to believe that after all our ancestors fought for, we as females are working against it and for what? Attention? Just to have an opinion?

I love the message that you are sending. Continue to stand up for your beliefs darling 🙂
