If you’re living in Dubai – or the UAE in general – then you already know there is an endless supply of salons at every corner. I find that once I have a place and person I like and am used to, I keep going back to them. When the ladies at Vaniday app approached me about testing out their app and reviewing it, I was so excited to discover a new place to try and get out of my comfort zone. I was absolutely shocked at how many salons there are around that I never knew existed and proceeded to book at Essentials Salon Dubai, mostly because the interior looked so quaint and serene. Luckily my experience there was wonderful and now I have a new badge under my ‘favorite salons’ belt.
The great thing about the Vaniday app is you can search for places by services or location and it includes reviews to help you choose. There are often discounts and promotions available through the app, which is an additional perk to booking through Vaniday. I like making bookings online rather than over the phone so I can figure out the best date and time while seeing the available options infront of me, and to be able to make changes or cancelations later on if need be. The only difficulty I faced was that I was unable to book multiple services at once, but other than that I found this to be a fast and easy way to make appointments, while discovering new salons in my area and even choosing s preferred stylist or nail therapist. Have you tried the Vaniday app and if so, what was your take on it?

This week the British haute couture brand Gisella by Nana launched in Dubai and I attended the sneak preview of their 2016 Luxury Collection. Nana Agyeman Ennuson, the Creative Director and Co-founder of the brand envisioned gowns that express the elegance and grace of the powerful and modern woman.
The collection showcased a wide array of fabrics and designs in silk, chiffon, and floral stitching. A few dresses had a structured bodice with a flowy bottom, which combines delicate femininity with a sexy neckline. As you can imagine I loved the soft pastels, flower detailing and delicate silk, but I also could see myself wearing the body con color-block dress with the tailored jacket. The pieces were adorned with beautiful jewelry designed by Djurdja Watson and selected by Nana to compliment each dress.
Take a look at my favorite pieces below and let me know what you think of this luxury collection!
I’m very excited to announce my feature on the recently launched 707AVE. From fashion to lifestyle 707AVE will quickly become your online go-to publication for inspiration. Check out my interview where I discuss my beauty routine, blogging and my vision for the future of The Blush Diaries. Here’s a little snippet for you:
What inspired you to start blogging?
I always wanted a career that involved high levels of creativity and a lot of energy. I didn’t really feel fulfilled in my corporate job and decided to switch over to something that excites me: fashion. While searching for a job in the fashion industry, I started blogging and loved it. In March 2014, I finally decided to forge my own path and turn The Blush Diaries into a business.
Head over to 707AVE to read the full interview. Thank you for your continuous love, encouragement and support. It’s been a hell of a ride so far and I couldn’t have done it without you all!
I just started taking a beginner ballet for adults class at the James & Alex studio in Dubai and it’s the first form of exercise I never want to stop doing. Continue reading Instagram Lately
When you’ve lived in one place for a long time, there’s a chance the grass starts to seem greener anywhere else. Between my love for travel and the constant search for the feeling of novelty, I forgot to live in the now. I’ve decided to start this series about My Dubai, so that I can explore all the amazing places in my city and share my experiences with you. Continue reading Fraiche Cafe and Bistro
I caught the travel bug a few years back and I haven’t been able to shake it, nor do I want to. Because of busy schedules and other priorities we’ve been putting off travel plans lately, so we thought a staycation every once in a while is a good alternative for the mean time. Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about individuality. There’s so many wonderful bloggers out there and lots of beautiful clothes, so it’s tempting to experiment with different styles. As girly and whimsy as I am, sometimes I’m into monochrome, edgy or even boho looks. I do feel my best when I’m wearing something like this beautiful off-shoulder pink dress because it fits with my overall spirit, but occasionally the mood-of-the-day changes and I’ll surprise you or even myself. What do you think, is it fun to change it up or is it better to stick to what you know?

I finally took my Donut Float out for a spin, and now I have my eye on a few other cute pool accessories.
Adriana, the founder of Little Words Project reached out to me about her lovely business and their positive message. I chose Transcend as my word of the moment because it encompasses many things. I hope that it will be a daily reminder to be fearless and overcome all challenges and obstacles. I would also like to surpass my own expectations of myself, and let love and kindness be my guiding lights. Once I’ve taken all the strength I need from this bracelet, I would pass it on to someone who needs it more. These ‘sisterhood’ bracelets come with a numbered tag so you would be able to track their journey after you’ve given it to someone else!
Anyone interested in starting a book club with me? I always start a book and don’t end up finishing it. Ocassionally I’ll start a book that I get super obsessed with and can’t put down. How To Be Parisian has been cute so far, hopefully I’ll get through it all.
I found these beautiful peonies while grocery shopping today and couldn’t believe they’re available in Dubai during the summer! I love keeping flowers around the house and can totally guarantee you’ll be in a better mood if you do the same.
There’s no end to my love of pink and a cute hat, and so many of you loved this outfit I thought I’d link for you the items that are still available or similar options. Xo
If you’re following me on Instagram then you already know my hubby and I spent a couple of days at The Cove Rotana in Ras Al Khaimah this past weekend to celebrate a belated anniversary, and I’ll be sharing the details of our stay very soon. My husband is an entrepreneur as well and we both dedicate most of our time towards our businesses, so it’s always so nice to just unplug and unwind. In my case, trips like these are the ideal opportunity to shoot on location and create unique content. Don’t worry, I didn’t drive him too crazy, but I do realize how lucky I am to have such a supportive man by my side. When on vacation, I like to pack dresses and rompers that are comfortable and easy to throw on. Luckily, I found this beautiful floral – what a shocker – blue pleated midi that fit the bill!
